Display Profile Editor

The Display Profile Editor is a major part of the power of this software suite. It allows you to configure the display to match individual requirements. A display profile describes how a song is to be displayed on the screen. When it is run you are presented with a list of the display profiles:

The profiles are stored in the Display Profiles folder in the configured user-storage folder which by default is My Documents/Song Manager but can be changed using the User-Setup tool. Profiles can be edited by double-clicking on them or by selecting Add or Edit from the Profile menu.

When you start to edit a profile you are presented a number of sections, each under a different tab, each of which are described below. When editing is complete press the OK to save.

General

This section defines general characteristics

Parameter Description
Name The name of the profile
Title The displayed profile title
Target The intended user of the profile:

Screen = Song leader and followers
Print = Printing
etc
Transpose The amount of transpose to always be applied to the displayed song - typically used by instrutments with unusual tunings.

Display

This section defines what is displayed and how it is laid out on the screen.

Keys and Chords

This section defines how keys and chords are written:

Selecting the key in the first dropdown list shows how an internally mapped key is displayed on the screen and what chords are displayed.

There are two important settings which are very useful for certain groups of musicians.

These are applied according to the selected key.

Text Styles

This section allows the text style to be determined. Select the text type using the dropdown list and set the font and color accordingly.

Singers Text Color

This section allows the text for given singer type to modified according to the type singer. Lines or sections with a designated singer type override the default colors.
